I have started like 5 different blogs. I have so many incomplete thoughts and so many unfinished ideas. I really like how those are basically the same thing : )
So I figured I would just ramble and see what comes out… lets give it a try.

One of my thoughts were that as a pastors wife, one is expected to be able to sing like an angle, play the piano amazingly, or be the leader of one of the ministries. Though I would love to be able to sing. I can not. Tried to play the piano. That is not a true statement. As for leading a ministry though I will say that when NLC first started I did try to run the kids ministry…Yep. That’s about it. Ha. My husband is my ministry now. Making sure that the house is in order, our children are taken care of, and making sure that I am not giving my husband all of my nonexistent left overs. He deserves my best. If company was coming over would the house be in total chaos and would I be wearing my best sweats… probably not. I know it’s crazy some days. Some days I literally am showering at 4:30 for him to be home around 6. He gives his all, all day long. So should I.
I’m not saying I am perfect. There are days for sure that I am running around in my pj’s as he is pulling in and I’m throwing any toy I can see into any nook and cranny. But for the most part I try to be the women he married. Dressed my best and so in love it’s silly.
Have you lost the person that your spouse married? Bring it back to the beginning. When you didn’t care who knew how much you were in love and you would do anything to show it.

This past weekend I heard a song for the first time ever.. It has really just touched my heart. I am so thankful for what God has done in my life. What He has brought me from and to where He is taking me and my family.
The past few weeks I have been blessed to be able to travel with Joshua as he went around preaching to a few different churches. And at each church he spoke about where NLC came from and all of the craziness that is happening now. It’s not normal. Seeing the other churches and meeting all the people who are crazy and hungry for more of Jesus. They are all doing things that are just not normal.
To be apart of this is crazy. I didn’t grow up in church. I attended youth group but still for the most part lived my “normal” life. These past 3 years Jesus has rocked my life. It’s not normal and I am LOVING every minute of it!
I pray that this song ruins your heart the way it has mine this week and I pray that we all become desperate to be apart of the things that are just not normal!

So here it is quarter to 7. I am wide awake, have already picked up a little and even threw in a mini work out. The boys have a new wake up time! (one, the other or both) They now choose to wake up at 5:30. 5:30… who willingly wakes up that early? Its been happening for about a week. So when 5:30 rolls around its usually when I hear from the other room in ever so hushed tones..”mumma… mumma… MUMMA!!!”

Most mornings I have been pretty much a bear. I hate being woken up. Let alone being woken up by screaming. ::shudders:: It is like the worst thing to me. But let me wake up on my own ( : I am the happiest most bouncy morning person you will ever meet! So a few things I felt like God spoke to my heart are..

1. It’s a decision.
To be grumpy, happy, edgy, and so the list goes on. And we know this. But how hard is it to put it into practice. I encourage you, when you feel that grumpiness coming.. take a step back.. breath.. and remind yourself.. “Its a decision” and watch the changes in your home.

2. Be thankful.
There are days when I don’t think my oldest son could talk any more or say “mumma” in one sentence as many times as he does. This drives me crazy!! But I need to stop myself when I feel that irritation creeping in and be thankful. Thankful that he can talk. That he loves to talk and does it so well. Seriously he’s amazing ( : That he’s here. He is the most loving boy. (along with his brother) My world would be devastated if I couldn’t hear him talk another day. I know it’s a sad and odd thought but seriously.. think about it. What if something happens and then they are no longer here. Take a step back and be thankful.

Being a mom is the best thing that has ever happened to me! I encourage you to let today be different.. not just “another day”. Where else can you work out and have someone trying to get as close to you as possible with out getting hit and laughing with that great belly laugh. Or describe how a pelican eats with large, swooping arm motions and explaining that they sort of have a “net” for a mouth. (Try having a friend named Annette) ( : This was my morning and I wouldn’t have changed it for a thing!

So here’s the deal. : )
Sunday, Joshua *my husband* (insert proud pose here) preached the best message I have ever heard on pride. You will be able to hear it later this week at www.nlc.tv

When I would post a comment on facebook I would check back often to see if anyone had left a comment. Then if someone did.. it was like feeding a ravenous wolf. More.. more.. more.. more. The more people commented, the more I would check back. I would almost say I was getting a high with each comment.
So on Sunday when the first point was said, “Don’t let others determine your self worth” I got the sinking feeling in my stomach. If we were honest.. the more people comment on our posts the better we feel about ourselves.. and maybe not even feel better.. but you get that feel good feeling. And then its like a contest within yourself.. “what can I post next to top that and get more comments?!”

While I was mulling this over, this thought came in.. “What if I hungered after Gods word the way I do comments from others on facebook or just in everyday life.”

Wow. Shame on me.

What in your life do you need to cut out so that you can hunger after the things of God instead of the approval of others.

You are not defined by what others think. You are defined by the One who created you and He has never made a mistake. (Joshua Gagnon)
